"It was very overwhelming," said Anita VanAdrichem, who owns the greenhouse south of Grand Bend with her husband Paul. The lineup began an hour before the sale began, and throughout the morning people waited up to 90 minutes for their chance to buy a fern.

"We stick the Interac machine in their window, and then they can pay," said VanAdrichem, who said greenhouse staff loaded vehicles from the back for a contact-less interaction.
"I think next year we might have somebody to arrange the traffic," said VanAdrichem, who added that they'll ask for police assistance.
The co-owners first held a drive-through sale last year when pandemic restrictions meant they had to offload inventory quickly, selling 1500 plants.
