Located at Al Hikma Square in Katara, the bouquet is 6m high and 6m in diameter, consisting of 5,564 local Petunia seedlings (produced at Al Sulaiteen Nursery, Umm Salal Ali) of various colours, carefully selected and co-ordinated in a creative and artistic fashion, with the entire event constituting yet another one of the outstanding achievements of Qatar and the Ministry of Municipality.
Al Wakra Municipality Director Eng. Mohamed Hassan al-Nuaimi said that the bouquet was made in a sustainable manner, whereby an environmentally friendly irrigation system was used, with the bouquet's flowers to be handed out to Katara visitors after the end of the event.
Al-Nuaimi added that this bouquet reflects the beauty and diversity of Qatari nature and affirms to the world Qatar's commitment to sustainability and protecting the environment.
