Chelsea Flower Show goes online for the first time
Added on 03 May 2020
The annual event has taken place every year since 1913 with breaks for World War I and II.
Between 18 and 23 May, Royal Horticultural Society will host free content online, including garden tours led by an experienced designer, florist or gardening personality. Also part of the line-up are daily school gardening clubs, virtual floristry sessions and potting bench demonstrations. Ticket-holders will be able to vote for awards including RHS Chelsea plant of the decade and RHS Chelsea product of the year.

UK growers will offer behind-the-scenes tours of their nurseries, while others will replicate the displays they would have had in the Great Pavilion. Q&A sessions will also take place with RHS advisers and special guests.
Sue Biggs, RHS director general, said: "We're lucky to live in a digital age where we're able to bring aspects of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show online so we can continue to share the world's best in horticulture and bring garden design inspiration, breath-taking displays and horticultural knowledge for the nation to enjoy during this difficult time."
