Ginkgo and Syngenta partner for sustainable agri

Ginkgo Bioworks, a company specializing in cell programming and biosecurity, has partnered with Syngenta Seeds, a leading agricultural technology company, to screen a genetic library for novel trait discovery. This research partnership aims to develop healthier and more resilient crops that can withstand various environmental stresses and provide a sustainable food supply for farmers worldwide.
The partnership bridges Ginkgo’s protein engineering capabilities and ultra-high-throughput screening technologies with Syngenta’s expertise in designing and developing innovative plant traits. The goal is to complement and accelerate Syngenta’s efforts to create new plant traits to enhance crop productivity, increase yield, and improve food quality.
The collaboration highlights the increasing trend in agriculture to seek out innovative partnerships and cross-pollinate expertise and capabilities across diverse industries. By combining forces, Ginkgo and Syngenta are addressing the challenges facing farmers worldwide, leveraging new ideas, novel technologies, and unique partnerships to create solutions that can benefit the entire agricultural industry.
