GERMANY - International conference for new approaches in agriculture and nutrition – Biennial event – With foyer exhibition – Premiere on 29 and 30 April 2025 in Hamburg.

DLG (German Agricultural Society) is extending its 'Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food' portfolio with a new event: the “Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Convention”. The international conference with foyer exhibition will be celebrating its premiere on 29 and 30 April 2025 at the Congress Center Hamburg, Germany. Alternating every other year with the international “Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Show”, which takes place together with EuroTier, the world's leading trade fair for animal farming, the new event will offer experts from the agricultural and food sectors as well as research and science a platform for innovations, in-depht professional dialogue, discussions and networking. The new Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Convention will foster continuous knowledge exchange along the entire value chain, which help ensure that innovative solutions for transformation in the agricultural and food sectors evolve together. Market-ready solutions will be presented and demonstrated hands-on by industry partners in the foyer exhibition.

Securing the global food supply through new agricultural production systems is a central task of the future.  Against this background, the new “Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Convention” will be exploring this issue from various perspectives of the value chain. Intelligent strategies for sustainable, technology-based food production are required in the light of climate change, resource and production efficiency and progressive digitalisation. In this context, embedding the production of high-quality food under controlled conditions plays a central role within diverse food value chains.

"A dynamic value chain that cooperates closely and in a spirit of trust is crucial for the successful transformation of our food systems. This is why it is also the focus of our new international conference, which is aimed at helping to ensure the emergence of new synergies and co-operations and therefore new business prospects", says Marcus Vagt, Head of DLG's Energy, Inhouse Farming and New Foods Department.

At the two-day conference with foyer exhibition, both traditional actors and start-ups from the agribusiness as well as the food processing and trading sectors will have the opportunity to present their innovative products, to be inspired by practical presentations themselves and to network. The aim is to jointly seek solutions that enable resource-efficient food production in an increasingly value-oriented society. As a leading international expert network within the agricultural and food sectors, DLG is ideally placed for offering the value chain an international platform for professional dialogue that paves the way for pioneering developments at the “Inhouse Farming – Feed & Food Convention”.

Focal topics

Well-known experts from the fields of science and business will take an intensive and practical look at future topics. Amongst others, these topics will include CEA - Controlled Environment Agriculture, vertical farming, alternative proteins, insect production, aquaculture and algae, as well as aquaponics, cellular farming and high-value crops, including stimulant cannabis.
