Since 2018, Nimble Farms has utilized proven controlled-environment technology to develop a distributed network of smart modular farms powered entirely by renewable energy. The company has established a solid foundation in New York State, scaling operations strategically and sustainably while remaining committed to its mission of reliably and responsibly providing customers with fresh, quality produce, all year round.

At the heart of Nimble Farms’ operations are modular, climate-controlled grow units housed in converted shipping containers. Designed to maximize productivity per square foot, each unit is equipped with energy-efficient LED lights, recirculating water and nutrient systems, and precise environmental controls. This setup optimizes inputs such as fertilizer, water, and energy, enabling year-round production of a wide variety of high-quality, pesticide-free, non-GMO crops, including living lettuces, herbs, microgreens, and mushrooms. Emphasizing its commitment to sustainability, all Nimble Farms sites are powered 100% by renewable energy sourced from local solar, wind, and hydroelectric power.

The company collaborates closely with local supermarkets, farmers' markets, schools, and hospitals across New York State and the broader Northeast region to meet the growing demand for local, perishable produce. To mark its rebrand, Nimble Farms is excited to announce a major partnership with Tops Friendly Markets: Nimble Farms' Butterhead Living Lettuce is now available in all 152 Tops locations across New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont, with plans to expand product offerings in the near future.
