Kevin Spoelder is Area Manager at Hoogendoorn in The Netherlands. They exhibited at Growtech 2021 with their partner company MST Holland. Hoogendoorn creates sustainable and user-friendly automation solutions for every kind of horticultural business worldwide. We had an informative interview about Hoogendoorn's latest innovation IIVO System. You can view Kevin's answers and more as below.

HORTIBIZ DAILY: What's Hoogendoorn's working field?

KEVIN SPOELDER: We're automation company, we provide software for growers to make their life easier and to make most of what they do.

HD: What are you displaying at Growtech 2021?

KS: We display IIVO System which is the latest and the newest modern computer in the horticulture industry.

HD: What kind of innovations do you offer to your customers?

KS: Hoogendoorn IIVO is the latest and the most modern climate system available. That's our latest innovation to help growers achieve their goals.

HD: In which way is Hoogendoorn an international company?

KS: Hoogendoorn is a very international company. We're located in Holland but we have offices all around the world such as Mexico, Canada, China. We have partners in over 50 countries. We're actively in collaboration with our customers from over 100 countries.

HD: What are your expectations from Growtech?

KS: It has always been good to be here at Growtech. It's my 6th time here this year. It's very busy as always. Growtech is a gateway for the whole Turkish region, such  as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and more. So, we meet lots of clients from Turkey and from neighbor countries. It's very promising trade show always and we're looking forward being here every year.

HD: When you consider the next 5 years, what do you expect in the horticultural industry?

KS: What I expect is that the industry will bring more crops into the greenhouse production. So, in certain countries where there is still outdoor field lettuce or other types of crop production, there'll be more and more indoor farming instead. Meanwhile, the energy will be a massive challenge for the whole industry. I think the focus will be more on saving energy and being sustainable, not producing more only but producing more efficiently with less input.

HD: Are you satisfied with your attendance to Growtech trade fair as Hoogendoorn?

KS: Yes, we're very satisfied as always! I'd like to thank our partner MST Holland as well and Turkish colleagues. It's always a pleasure to be here.

HD: Do you have a message for the readers of Hortibiz Daily News?

KS: If they're in Holland during Growtech, my message would be that they should definitely be here next year!
