Today, global food systems face unprecedented pressure from climate extremes, geopolitical conflicts, and pandemic aftershocks, all of which have the ability to expose the fragility of international supply chains. In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regions, where arid climates place challenges on domestic production and demand a dependence on imports, these vulnerabilities demand our immediate attention.
