Frank Boers joins the AVAG board
Added on 15 December 2021
The announcement was made during the AVAG general meeting of members on Wednesday 15 December. Frank Boers succeeds Theo Sanders, managing director of Alcomij, who has decided to step down from the company and therefore also from his other sector-related duties. Sanders joined the AVAG board in 2011 and was one of the co-founders of Hortivation, which he also chaired for a number of years.
The AVAG board members regard Frank Boers as a welcome addition, according to Annie van de Riet, AVAG president: "We are happy that Frank Boers is available for this role. He has a broad background of knowledge and experience gained both within and outside of the sector. Moreover, his arrival will further strengthen our relationship with the Hortivation board."
With respect to his appointment to the board, Boers states: "I'm proud of our horticultural sector. In recent years, we have seen an ever-faster pace of change in terms of strategic challenges and technological advancements. In this exciting dynamic, it is essential that our industry receives professional guidance and representation. I have a lot of respect for how AVAG meets that need and balances the different interests of the various businesses."
