Greenhouse workers may be more susceptible to COVID-19

The University of Florida (UF) is taking a closer look at how susceptible members of your greenhouse's workforce might be to COVID-19, and how you can train team managers to keep them as safe as possible.

In a recent study, Gulcan Onel, a UF/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Assistant Professor of Food and Resource Economics, used three different sources of data to determine whether some might be more prone to the coronavirus than others. Onel also synthesized existing health and employment data from federal sources. She then compared the demographic differences of H-2A workers with those of unauthorized agricultural workers to draw conclusions about COVID-19 risks among these farmworkers.
