Havecon Bosnia visits the Dutch headquarters

This past week, Havecon's headquarters in the Netherlands received a visit from the company's Bosnian branch. The group of twelve colleagues came to see what it's like at the head office and meet some customers in the region. For some of the new engineers, this was their first time seeing a Dutch greenhouse in person!

The visit started with a tour in the area. The entire Bosnian team visited Van Geest Potplanten to see the greenhouse up close and get information on the greenhouse construction and functionalities. Afterwards, the team travelled to Hoogeveen Plants (which is under construction) to see the glazing of the roof. The foreman of the construction team explained critical details about the process. Visiting the muddy site in the rain was also a formal introduction to Dutch life.

Following the impactful visit to a grower,  the team had the opportunity to meet with other Atrium Agri members such as VB and BOM. In addition to this, the team also learned more internally from their Havecon colleagues. The team received information about  sales, calculation and Research and Business Development. This was the perfect time to delve deeper into the company and discuss business processes with each other. In the evening, the team had a night out in Rotterdam!

On the final day of the visit, the team came back to the office to have three more presentations on the company. This included quality control, work preparation and project management. In the afternoon, the group went to our customer Royal Peppers, which has been successful in operation. The focus was on receiving a thorough, technical overview of the various systems and technologies. After that, the entire team got back to the office and had a tour through the factory to learn more about our Voorwinden's machinery which is used to construct all of Havecon's greenhouses.

To finish the educational part, the tour ended in the Havecon canteen for the company's "vrijdag middag borrel" to have a cheers to the weekend.

The last detail of their visit included a stop in 's-Gravenzande to see BASF. The tour was given by the site manager who could tell them more about the research they are working on. They had opportunity to see several setups for different types of lettuce and vegetables.

The group returned to Bosnia with a load of new information and inspiration.
