Protection for combating fungus gnats on greenhouses

The German biotechnology company e-nema GmbH now offers its nemaplus depot P biological plant protection product on the international market. The formulation has been enhanced and its application simplified.

The special property of nemaplus depot P is its preventative effect. The beneficial nematodes leave the capsules, which have been mixed into the ground, over a period of several weeks and thereby provide long-term, preventative protection against fungus gnats. Previously, it was only possible to treat these curatively, meaning once the damage had already been done.

Beneficial nematodes have been successfully used in plant protection for a long time. In contrast to the conventional watering treatment method, nemaplus depot P is mixed into the substrate at the start of the cultivation cycle. A single treatment is sufficient for the entire cultivation period. In Germany, nemaplus depot P has proven itself, above all, in the cultivation of herbs and vegetables.

"Its areas of application include the cultivation of herbs and seedlings, cannabis growing, vertical farming, and all areas in which repeated watering with nematodes is not possible," explains Michael Barth, Product Manager, e-nema GmbH. "The powder formulation of our nemaplus® product offers instant treatment; nemaplus depot P offers long-term effectiveness on top." Adding perlite improves both its storage life and use. Both products are certified for use in organic cultivation by OMRI and FibL. "
