Positive growth for UK garden centres in 2024, reports GCA

The Garden Centre Association (GCA) has reported a strong finish to 2024, with its latest Barometer of Trade (BoT) figures showing a 3.75% increase in December sales compared to the same period in 2023. Annual sales also rose by 3.26%, highlighting the sector’s resilience and steady growth.

The GCA Barometer of Trade, a trusted benchmarking tool that collates actual sales data from member garden centres, reveals particularly strong performances in December. Hard landscaping took the lead with an impressive 35.12% year-on-year increase, followed by catering (+8.86%) and clothing (+7.46%).
