Turkestan's greenhouse boom: 200,000 tons of veggies in 2025

Greenhouse farming in Turkestan Region, Kazakhstan, has become a crucial pillar of the country’s agricultural sector. In 2024, greenhouse complexes in the region produced 150,000 tons of vegetables, covering over 40% of Kazakhstan’s fresh produce needs. However, local agronomists and farm owners believe this is just the beginning. With further expansion and financial support, production is set to reach 200,000 tons in 2025.

Turkestan’s Greenhouse Revolution: Scaling Up Production

The majority of greenhouses are concentrated in the Saryagash District, where thousands of local workers are employed in vegetable and fruit cultivation.
