SDTC project Targeted Delivery of Biopesticides

Vive Crop Protection and A&L Biologicals Inc., a subsidiary of A&L Canada Laboratories Inc., are harnessing the power of their combined technologies in an SDTC Project "Targeted Delivery of Biopesticides". Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) is an independent federal foundation which helps Canadian companies develop and deploy competitive, clean technology solutions to help solve some of the world's most pressing environmental challenges: climate change, clean air, clean water and clean soil.

Vive and A&L are working to develop effective new biopesticide products using Vive's patented Allosperse nanotechnology delivery system and A&L's novel microbial based bio-pesticide technologies. The new targeted biopesticide products will provide farmers with higher yield potential using sustainable technologies that can be easily integrated into existing crop management practices. The project includes greenhouse and field trial testing, through to commercialization.

The global biopesticide market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 14.7% from an estimated value of USD 4.3 billion in 2020 reaching USD 8.5 billion by 2025. Vive and A&L's technologies address these global trends and support development of this emerging market.

"The team at A&L Biologicals has developed several effective novel bio fungicides and other crop protection products that we are bringing to the market, and we believe the enhanced performance using Vive's Allosperse delivery system will be game changers for our farmer customers," said Greg Patterson, CEO and Founder of A&L Canada Laboratories Inc.

"We are investing aggressively into research and development of new biological crop protection technologies," said Nevin McDougall, President and CCO of A&L. "Unlocking the effectiveness of these new products with leading edge delivery technology is an important strategic initiative."

"Biological pesticides are becoming increasingly important to farmers and can add a valuable tool to their toolbox, especially in terms of improved performance and resistance management," says Darren Anderson, CEO of Vive Crop Protection. "Bringing unique products with real benefits to farmers is key to Vive's mission."

"Vive's Allosperse delivery system allows important active ingredients to be used in ways that provide maximum benefit to farmers. It will be a key component in delivering biological pesticides or a mix of conventional and bio-pesticides to the marketplace," says Jordan Dinglasan, VP of Product Development, Vive Crop Protection.
