Shortlist announced for The World BioProtection Awards 2022

The WBF is delighted to announce the names of the outstanding businesses and experts shortlisted for the World BioProtection Awards 2022.

The World BioProtection Forum (WBF) is hosting the 2nd Annual World BioProtection Summit and Awards 2022 on 23-24th May 2022 at NEC, Birmingham (UK), to address the pressing need to develop alternatives to chemical crop protection in sustainable food production.

This year we received record numbers of applications for ten Awards: Best Bioinsecticide Product, Best Biofungicides Product, Best Bionematicide Product, Best Biochemical Product, Best Biostimulants Product, Best Biofertilizer Product, Biotech Start-up Business of The Year, Best Young Entrepreneur of The Year, Best Biocontrol Business of The Year, Innovative Research Project of The Year, Industry Collaboration and Outstanding Achievement.

All applications were sent to a panel of more than 20 selected judges with expertise and experience in the biocontrol industry, academia, commercial and government organisations. 

"The standard of entries this year has been exceptionally high, making our judges task extremely hard", declared Dr Minshad Ansari, Chairman of the WBF. "The shortlist features entrants who are up for one or more awards - and includes leading businesses from biocontrol industry and experts from different sectors for Outstanding Achievement."  

The winners will be announced at a prestigious awards reception and presentation hosted by the WBF at the NEC, Birmingham on the evening of the 23rd May 2022. 

Shortlisted companies for various Awards are:

Individuals shortlisted for the Outstanding Achievement Award are: Dr TM Manjunath, Consultant on Biocontrol Agri-biotechnology and IPM; Marcus Meadows-Smith, CEO of BioConsortia; Dr Willem Ravensberg, Regulatory and Governmental Affairs Manager at Koppert Biological Systems; and Dr Prem Warrior, Chief Operating Officer at Valagro.

Commenting on this year's entries, WBF Chair Dr Minshad Ansari said: "Many congratulations to all our finalists on reaching the shortlist - and a huge thank you to all our entrants for the time and energy they put into their entries for the World BioProtection Awards 2022. The Biocontrol industry is one of the fast-growing market and products, innovation, and outstanding achievements must be recognised by a prestigious body".

The World BioProtection Awards is the perfect platform for any biocontrol business to highlight their achievements and gain the recognition they deserve.
