Sector promotion in RTL programme Klimaatbewust Werkt

To raise consumer awareness about sustainable initiatives within the horticultural sector, Flower Council Holland is participating in the programme Klimaatbewust Werkt. The episode in which they appear, which airs on 10 November, focuses on natural crop protection. The programme offers a great opportunity to inform consumers about the concrete steps they are taking as a sector towards more sustainable cultivation.

Focus on green cultivation: from prevention to biological solutions
The Klimaatbewust Werkt episode (in Dutch) revolves around green cultivation, which plays a key role in making the sector more sustainable. They emphasize how various organizations within the horticultural sector are combining their knowledge and strengths to make the production process more sustainable and flowers more resilient to diseases and pests.

Three approaches

Joyce Lansbergen explains how the company uses innovation and technology to grow products more sustainably. She talks about using AI for the early detection of potential diseases and pests, smart water circulation, and biological crop protection.

Breeder HilverdaFlorist
Bart Sneek discusses sustainable developments in plant breeding, describing how HilverdaFlorist prioritizes sustainability in its breeding program, developing plants that are better able to withstand diseases and pests.

Koppert
Tim Bossinga from Koppert Netherlands talks about trends in biological crop protection within the horticultural sector, explaining how Koppert's innovations contribute to healthy plant cultivation and the reduced use of chemical products.
