The new HortiFootprint Calculator: More comprehensive, clearer

The HortiFootprint Calculator measures the environmental impact of potted plants and cut flowers across their entire life cycle. The LCA includes sixteen impact categories and all eight life stages of a floriculture product, following the FloriPEFCR. While the previous version focused primarily on CO² emissions and a few basic aspects of environmental effects, the new HortiFootprint Calculator covers a wide range of environmental themes, such as climate change, land use, and water consumption. Unlike the previous HortiFootprint Calculator, the environmental impact is calculated per product rather than for the total production of a company.

Additionally, the user interface of the HortiFootprint Calculator has been redesigned and simplified. Data is provided through an easy-to-use tool, and a dashboard offers a clear overview of different production chains, including energy sources, packaging materials, transport options, and raw materials. The new HortiFootprint Calculator provides a comprehensive dashboard in an understandable and visually appealing format, allowing data to be viewed from different perspectives. The dashboard also includes a table view in which all sixteen impact categories and eight life stages are visible at a glance.
