The SIVAL postponed until 2022

FRANCE- The SIVAL, the international plant production show, is already looking forward to welcoming the sector's members from the 11th to the13th January 2022 at the Parc des Expositions in Angers.

Faced with the current unprecedented health situation, and the constraints that it is generating, Christophe Béchu, Maire of Angers, and Bruno Dupont, President of the SIVAL have decided that the 2021 edition of the SIVAL should not be take place, and that the show should be postponed until 2022.

Christophe Béchu, Maire of Angers, is of the opinion that it is necessary to be responsible, when faced with the current health situation and with regard to the region's flagship event, the SIVAL, a show that is recognised for its quality, its conviviality and its efficiency. «We are faced with an unprecedented health crisis, and each of us should behave in a careful and thoughtful manner. The decision to postpone the SIVAL until 2022 is the only one that meets our obligation of responsibility and professionalism with regard to the partners, exhibitors and visitors of the show. I fully understand the impact of this cancellation on the sector's members, those involved in tourism and the organisation of events, and I deeply regret it. I would like to thank Bruno Dupont, the Destination Angers teams, and those who have been carrying out preparations for the show over the last few months, and look forward to welcoming them all in January 2022 for an edition that will hopefully be a resounding success for all those involved».

While the SIVAL looked as though it was going to be sold out within a few weeks of its opening, the show has now been obliged to abandon the prospect of welcoming visitors and exhibitors in January. «It is heartbreaking to imagine the month of January without the SIVAL, an occasion that provides a unique opportunity for discussion and business for all the professionals in the sector», said Bruno Dupont, President of the SIVAL. «The health situation has forced us to make the decision to postpone the show until 2022. Even without the show, we are committed to being present online in order to provide the opportunity for expression and diffusion throughout the vegetable production sector».

The Destination Angers teams are already working on a series of online rendezvous throughout the year, which without replacing the show, will enable members to use the common threads that the SIVAL provides, it's DNA, a catalyst for innovation, the challenges and trends facing the vegetable production sector.
