Hort Science Live 2024 - peat-free growing in action

From a highly practical perspective, ICL Hort Science Live (HSL 2024) will explore the knowledge, technologies and skills UK growers need to produce quality resilient plants in sustainable peat-free growing media.

To be held at the Cambridge-based National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB), this one-day grower-focused event will be repeated on two consecutive days - July 3 and 4 (10am-2.30).

In contrast to previous Hort Science events, HSL 2024 will be trials-led.  Five sessions will explore new developments in woodfibre and water management; advances in controlled released fertilisers (CRFs) and nutrient management; and explain why growers should embrace biostimulants in peat-free growing media.

“With the spotlight firmly on the latest technologies and management practices, the content will be brought to life through a series of trials, to be viewed on the day,” says ICL Sales Manager, Adrian Thirtle-Watts.

“In addition to our highly knowledgeable UK technical team led by Andrew Wilson, we are pleased to welcome Lianne van Wijk, ICL’s International Technical Manager, to HSL 2024.   Lianne will lead a session ‘Building the future of Osmocote’, exploring the new biodegradable fertiliser coatings and their performance in sustainable substrates.

BASIS points will be available.
