Successful first SAFTA Alliance meeting in Saudi Arabia

Successful first SAFTA Alliance meeting in Saudi Arabia
Giovanni Angiolini, Dutch Greenhouse Delta’s Director Middle East & Africa

“Last week, I participated in the quarterly partner meeting of the recently established Saudi AgriFood Tech Alliance (SAFTA). Held in Riyadh, the meeting brought together a diverse group of stakeholders dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture innovations across the Kingdom.

For those unfamiliar, SAFTA is a strategic collaboration aimed at transforming Saudi Arabia’s food systems to align with Saudi Vision 2030. Its mission? To accelerate agritech innovation, reduce dependency on food imports, and support sustainable practices.

At Thursday’s meeting, our esteemed colleagues from TOPIAN (a NEOM food company) shared insights into the K2K program, which officially launched yesterday. This initiative, executed by Topian, Estidamah and Horti Synergy, with the support and supervision of Dutch Greenhouse Delta and the Netherlands Agricultural Network in GCC, will train students, companies, and trainers to scale Saudi Arabia’s sustainable food production.

Our contribution to SAFTA will include providing expertise, guidance, and training to further develop the Kingdom’s controlled environment agriculture sector. We are excited to support this alliance and contribute to a greener, more resilient future for Saudi Arabia!”
