Weeklong SAIC and Benary Flower Trials at Doha Expo, Qatar

Al Sulaiteen Agricultural and Industrial Complex (SAIC), in association with German Seed Breeder Benary, schedules flower trials at Doha Expo. Under the motto “Flowering Dunes," from February 11 to 17, 2024, at the International Zone, Horticultural Expo in Doha. Benary is showcasing their top products. It includes 58 types of Petunia, 26 types of Marigold, and nearly 20 other kinds of flowers. The development of floriculture in the flourishing landscape of Qatar and the Arabian Peninsula is important for the coming years. The main goal of flower trials is to bridge the gap between the climate needs of the Arabian Peninsula, together with the specialists from SAIC and the Benary breeding house. The flower trials were inaugurated by Eng.Mohammed Ali Al Khouri, Secretary General of the Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha, in the presence of Mr. Yousef Khaled Al Khulaifi, Director of Agricultural Affairs Department and Mr.Abdullah bin Salem Al Sulaiteen, Chairman of Al Sulaiteen Group. Mr. Thomas Bousart, Director, Sales and Marketing, Benary Flower Seed, and other representatives attended the function.

Since 2002, Al Sulaiteen Agricultural and Industrial Complex (SAIC) has been concentrating on seasonal flower plant production in Qatar. SAIC produces summer and winter seasonal flowers with a total variety of more than 60 different types. With SAIC's professional growing experience, it introduced new kinds of flowers to the Qatari landscape, and some of the flowers are totally new and were introduced for the first time in the region. SAIC has the ambition to introduce more Qatari climate-adoptive seasonal flowers and bedding plants. For this purpose, SAIC is working with leading flower seed breeding companies. Currently, a German-based Benary flower seed company is collaborating with SAIC and extending its support in the promotion of Benary flower assortment in Qatar as well as in Middle East countries.
