Abandoned school will be transformed into medical marijuana grow house

WILLISTON, Fla. - One former Levy County public school that closed in 2021 will continue to grow -- but in a slightly different sense.

Williston City Council members approved a request from the medical marijuana company “Fluent” to use the vacant school into a commercial marijuana grow house.

Medical marijuana will be grown inside the former school. Some residents TV20 spoke to were against the project, but so was the city council at first. Mayor of Williston Charles Goodman said he was not thrilled when he first heard about the project, either.
