Greenhouse vegetable production increased by almost 5%

Since the beginning of 2022, 447 thousand tons of vegetables and green crops have already been grown in winter greenhouses - this is 4.9% more than in the same period last year. According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture, in general, by the end of the year, the volume of production will reach another record at the level of about 1.5 million tons. This is stated in the message of the ministry.

Now most greenhouse vegetables are produced in the Lipetsk, Moscow, Volgograd, Kaluga regions and Stavropol Territory.

Preferential investment loans and "incentive" subsidies are provided for the enterprises of the industry. Since this year, a new mechanism for compensating part of the costs for the construction of greenhouse enterprises in the regions of the Far East has been in effect. In the future, these measures will make it possible to provide Russians with fresh vegetable products of their own production all year round and not depend on imported supplies in the off-season.
