New sorting and delivery buffer for OK Plant

New sorting and delivery buffer for OK Plant

Last month OK Plant has taken a new sorting and delivery system from WPS into use. The aim of the system is to increase flexibility and further improve the quality of work for the employees of OK Plant and the system is therefore built according to the highest standards.

A design by everyone

An important design criterion was that all operations cause minimal stress to the plants. Every moment of contact during transport is easily manageable. Unique is that the design of the system was largely done by the employees of OK Plant. Ergonomics and peace and quiet were of great importance, so that the employees could work with the system as pleasantly as possible.

Splash construction

The plants are unloaded in batches, placed in trays and transported via a roller conveyor to the pre-buffer. Before the tray goes into the pre-buffer, each tray is provided with water by means of a kind of "Splash construction".

The front buffer consists of roller conveyors. During order picking, the trays for the order in question are collected on the output roller conveyor and transported to the delivery buffer.

In the delivery buffer with belt conveyors, the orders to be delivered are collected and the delivery buffer is filled on the basis of the orders composed of the prebuffer.

From the delivery buffer onwards, the orders are prepared for transport.

Fine cooperation

Digna van Zanten, director of WPS: "We are proud that we were able to realise this for a beautiful company like OK Plant. We have worked intensively together to design and realize a suitable system. And with results! We are looking forward to further cooperation in the future".

System as a basis for expansion

The system has been designed in such a way that further automation is easily possible in the future.

In this way OK Plant can further develop the system and integrate it with other processes.
