Off-the-grid aeroponic Tower Farm in Africa

Off-the-grid aeroponic Tower Farm in Africa

Agrotonomy was recently in Africa, in the island nation of Cape Verde. Here, they set up an aeroponic vertical farm featuring 100 aeroponic towers.

This pilot project aims to grow fresh leafy greens, herbs, and vegetables for a country that imports 90% of its food.

This 100% off-the-grid solar-powered Tower Farm will contribute to redefining the food security paradigm in Cape Verde by providing sustainably grown local produce while saving up to 90% water in comparison to conventional farming…

In this Portuguese-speaking country in Africa, where people currently experience a severe drought for the last five years, this aeroponic farm will contribute in setting an example of how remote island nations can develop autonomous water-saving farming solutions.
