When it comes to culinary herb production, greenhouse average daily temperature (ADT) and daily light integral (DLI) can be adjusted to improve crop timing, maximize biomass production, and increase crop quality.

In a webinar to take place on Thursday, March 12, Michigan State University researchers Roberto Lopez and Kellie Walters will discuss how the growth, development, and color of culinary herbs is influenced by ADT and DLI. They will share research on several crops, including sweet basil, purple basil, sage, and spearmint, giving research-backed tips on how to use these environmental parameters to improve crop yield and quality.
