Armando Alvarez Group and RedSea have signed an exclusive collaboration agreement to produce innovative greenhouse covers for hot climate farming. The new heat-absorbing greenhouse cover aims to improve harvests, reduce irrigation and energy use and is designed for areas with high temperatures and water shortages. RedSea’s patented iyris® SecondSky® advanced nanotechnology will be incorporated into the 100% recyclable greenhouse and tunnel cover films manufactured by Grupo Armando Alvarez. The collaboration aims to address farming communities’ unique challenges in arid areas and contribute to sustainable development. Both companies are committed to delivering sustainable solutions tailored to the agricultural sector, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals and global net-zero targets.

Armando Alvarez Group, the world’s largest converter of agricultural plastics, and RedSea, a leader in agri-climate technology, have announced an exclusive collaboration agreement. The partnership aims to produce innovative greenhouse covers designed explicitly for sustainable farming in hot climates.

Innovative Greenhouse Covers

The new heat-absorbing greenhouse cover is designed to improve harvests and significantly reduce irrigation, fertigation, and energy use. It is particularly suited for agriculture in areas with high temperatures and water shortages, conditions that nearly 2 billion people worldwide depend on for subsistence agriculture.

Advanced Nanotechnology

RedSea’s patented iyris® SecondSky® advanced nanotechnology solution will be incorporated into the 100% recyclable greenhouse and tunnel cover films manufactured by Grupo Armando Alvarez. This technology has been successfully tested under extreme heat climatic conditions in the Middle East, Southern Mediterranean, and Arizona desert.
