Jungle Talks to Japan

Jungle Talks to Japan

''Jungle Talks to the World'' travels again to Asia. After discussing horticulture in Vietnam, now Japan is on the agenda. The land of the rising sun, host of the 2021 Olympic Games and the country that is developing the first prototype of a tomato harvesting robot. Japan is a fascinating country where everything works differently than anywhere else in the world. That also goes for horticulture. This episode will not lead to easy answers, but offers you a glimpse on a fascinating country with almost infinite but also very complex opportunities.

3 June and 10 June 2021 (16.00 - 17.00 hrs CEST)

Japan is an island. It has a large (however declining) population of 127 million inhabitants. Its culture is very particular and derives from century old traditions combined with a strong outlook on the future. It is not easy for foreigners to understand Japan's business culture and that's the starting point for this new episode of 'Jungle Talks to Japan'.

Agricultural Counsellor Evert Jan Krajenbrink, based in Tokyo, together with Akira Saito of Delphy Japan, Michel de Kok of Holland Web and Jeroen van Leeuwen of Hortinnovate will make an attempt to unravel the secret to building successful business relationships in Japan. They will also look at the future of horticulture in this country and explain why Japan doesn't only want to become more self-sufficient, but also wants to increase its exports.

On June 3, from 16.00 hrs CEST onwards these four guests will present themselves and the week after they will discuss 4 relevant themes that illustrate the present and future of Japan's horticultural sector. Tune in via www.paprikatastyradio.nl.
