More speakers on Robotics and Automation in Horti conference

UK- FPC Future announces more speakers at one of its conference sessions on Robotics and Automation in horticulture.

The session on Robotics and Automation - Post-farm Gate at FPC Future on 4 November will look at the technology being introduced that can facilitate earlier labelling and tracking of food products throughout the manufacturing supply chain, bringing numerous benefits, such as improved information for consumers on where their 'food comes from' and faster action to mitigate food safety issues.

This session, one of the eight free to attend sessions that are taking place on the day at the Lincolnshire Showground, will explore how common challenges that span the post-farm gate supply chain can be effectively tackled through human-robot collaboration.  Attendees will be able to participate in various discussions  around the automation of intra-logistics; from in-field transportation through to warehouse operations and beyond.

Other areas that will be covered are:

ˇ         How automated systems are able to operate safely 24/7 in challenging field and factory environments, ensuring supply chain reliability

ˇ         How post-farm gate processes can be accelerated through agricultural robotics

ˇ         How technology can maximise 'food knowledge' for consumers, allowing them to understand the 'farm to fork journey' their produce has taken

ˇ         How robotics can assist in warehouse and intra-logistic operations

ˇ         How to maximise return on investment

FPC is proud to welcome the following speakers to the programme.  Janet Bellamy, Associate Professor of Food Industry Digitalisation and Processing Technologies, NCFM will be chairing the session which includes Mike Wilson, Chief Automation Officer Technology Strategy, MTC, Sarah Jayne Gratton, Co-Founder, The Influencers and Matt Rayment, Sector Development Manager, MTC.

The other conference streams range from robotics and automation (pre-farm gate) to data driven technologies, from sustainability to protected cropping and from supply chain waste to carbon supply  chains. There will also be working displays and tours of the University of Lincoln's Riseholme Campus facilities. The event website, www.fpcfuture.co.uk, holds all the details of the features. You can also register for your free place there.

Over 50 organisations are already participating by either sponsoring, exhibiting or speaking. Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are available and anyone interested in hearing more about these should contact linda@freshproduce.org.uk.
