Shining light on optimized growing

CANADA, North Vancouver (BC) and Montre?al (Que?bec) - Ecoation Innovative Solutions Inc. (ecoation), a Canadian developer of automated greenhouse management and crop health monitoring technologies and Sollum Technologies, a Canada- based provider of smart LED lighting solutions, are pleased to announce the signature of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreement to explore the potential for future collaboration.

ecoation's OKO platform collects data at every row and post, providing operational visibility at a SqM granularity with remote crop monitoring and AI-driven crop registration capabilities. Innovating at the intersection of Human + Machine means pursuing new ways to provide growers with enhanced insights by extending their ability to see the crop and providing more measurements, including optimized lighting. Sollum offers greenhouse producers the only smart LED lighting solution that dynamically recreates, perfects, and modulates the full spectrum of the Sun's natural light. Through an established MOU, the companies are poised to explore new ways to add value to grower greenhouses and potential data-driven avenues for optimized plant lighting. Their complementary technologies will enable growers to test and adopt new production methods and open exciting new possibilities for cultivation.

"Light is an important element that impacts all aspects of the plant life cycle and plays a significant role in tritrophic interactions between plants, pests and beneficials." commented ecoation CEO Dr. Saber Miresmailli. "We are very excited to unlock the potential that comes through collaboration with Sollum. Combining our data harvesting capabilities and 3D environmental monitoring with Sollum's light control technology will introduce a paradigm shift in ways light has been used in the greenhouse."

"Collaborating with ecoation is a tremendous opportunity for Sollum and will provide our smart lighting solution with new data sources," said Sollum CEO Louis Brun. "That data will enhance and refine the functionality of our SUN as a Service® platform, which means growers will benefit from more precise and sophisticated information when making decisions about the light spectra they apply to their crops. Our agreement with ecoation is yet another sign of the technological transformation underway in greenhouses."
