Raising exports by three times until 2040
During the roundtable Kazakhstani agrarians told investors about agricultural opportunities in Kazakhstan. To support exporters, the government developed the National Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2018-2022, aimed at the formation of a unified holistic policy to ensure the conditions for raising exports by three times until 2040. For businessmen running a greenhouse business, preferential loans and subsidies are provided.
The parties intend to sign six MOU's, some of which involve the construction of new industries, primarily in the field of greenhouses. It is worth noting that today the Netherlands is the leader in terms of investment in Kazakhstan. Almost one third of all foreign funds attracted during the years of independence accounted for that European country. Almas Aidarov, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan: ''The MOU's signed are amongst others aimed at the specific construction of greenhouses in Uralsk, the expansion of greenhouses in Aktobe Oblast, and the opening of a training center in Turkestan Oblast. The developments of the agricultural sector is important for us now. We support the development of the sector with various incentives and subsidies, a business-friendly environment and investor's rights protection.''
Friendly relation between the countries
As the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands Askar Zhumagaliyev emphasized, the friendly relations between the countries became the basis of trusting contacts, both in politics and in economic cooperation. The Chairman of the Board of "KAZAKH INVEST" Meirzhan Yusupov states: "Dutch companies are of interest to us both in terms of direct investment, and in terms of transfer of advanced technologies, as well as successful cooperation between the state, business, science and education.'' Henri Oosthoek, Managing Director of Koppert Biological Systems is one of the Dutch delegates. He claims that the horticulture in Kazakhstan is developing faster than in the surrounding countries.
The mission continues with a visit the Almaty, Aktobe and the West-Kazakhstan region where the Dutch delegation will meet with regional executives and representatives of the regional business community to discuss the details of the implementation of projects.
