Tall Plants such as Cannabis can now benefit from automation

Taller plant industries such as bananas, cannabis, potatoes, corn, cereals as well as specific ornamental and berry fruit horticultural varieties can now benefit from automation.

The Australian based, globally focused PTC automation company Nic-In Systems® has introduced a taller container to its product consumables range.

The new 110mm Nic-In Container will increase the automated system use in tall plant industries.

The taller container augments the existing 65mm Nic-In Container. The current 49 cell tray configuration is kept the same, however the new trays have taller 'arms' consistent with the taller container.

A new deeper 49 Cell insert/tray is presently being planned to enable the use of transplanters with vision options, so the cultures can be graded when transplanted in the nursery. This grading option is becoming more popular, certainly with the companies using embryo technologies.

Nic-In Systems® has seen an increase in sales in Europe and the USA despite the COVID-19 restriction over the past 15 months. Growth has occurred with both customers using the Nic-In Systems® in nursery automation, or in manual planting to still achieve improved planting efficiency and quality outcomes in the nursery.

Interest has also been strong from industries using PTC embryogenesis technology. The Nic-In Systems® would appear to be well suited over other PTC consumables. Enquires have been strong from a number of new companies worldwide for the Nic-In Systems® 'Starter Pack' to trial the Nic-In Container and insert/trays.
