Abbotsford, Canada – From November 19 to 22, the Plant Empowerment team brought together the horticulture sector in British Columbia, Canada, for a three-day course. This successful event welcomed over 90 growers and horticulture professionals from Canada and North America. Participants deepened their understanding of the Plant Empowerment philosophy, its practical applications, and shared new insights. The event was organized in collaboration with the 12 partners and several Canadian associations, including the BC Growers Association, the UFGCA, and the BCLNA.

Event highlights

Upon arrival, a day before the course began, trainers and ornamental horticulture participants visited two leading ornamental horticulture companies: Rainbow Greenhouses Inc. and Qualitree. This visit provided valuable hands-on insights into the challenges faced by ornamental growers. These insights allowed the training sessions to be tailored even more effectively to participants' needs. Moreover, the visit created a great opportunity for networking and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

This year marked the third edition of the Plant Empowerment course, welcoming both new and returning participants. The course was spread over three days. The first day focused on growers of all crops, with general sessions relevant to both vegetable and ornamental growers. The second day was dedicated to vegetable crops, while the third day centered on ornamental crops.

During the second and third day, participants followed a personalized program, choosing from a wide range of breakout sessions. Topics ranged from data-driven cultivation and innovative approaches to pest and disease management to exploring root environments, summer climate, and much more. Additionally, one-on-one sessions with consultants were available, allowing participants to deepen their knowledge and discuss specific questions.

Participant review

“It was fantastic to see a team of experts come together to share insights on various topics within the philosophy. The consultants possess all the knowledge and experience needed to help growers and other horticulture professionals apply the principles. Moreover, the event was exceptionally well-organized by the Plant Empowerment team. I will definitely return for the next edition of the course here in BC, Canada.”
