In Port Antonio, Jamaica, Melissa Hall and her husband, Telief, have turned to hydroponic farming to combat the rising costs and inconsistent availability of vegetables in local markets.

By establishing a hydroponic system, they now cultivate a variety of crops, including lettuce, scallion, hot pepper, sweet pepper, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, and tomato, ensuring a steady supply for their restaurant, Roots 21, and personal consumption. ​
