Intelligent Philips LED solution helps Brabant Plant steer its crops

Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT) has supplied Brabant Plant with new Philips LED lighting solutions, which helps them to overcome the challenges of energy management and cultivation schedules. Brabant Plant's challenge is achieving determined growth while adhering to cultivation schedules.

The solution involves a three-channel dynamically controllable Philips GreenPower LED toplighting force in combination with a Philips GrowWise control system, which allows Brabant Plant to select the right spectrum for each plant species, growth phase, or product segment, and apply it at any time of the day. “We are now able to select the right spectrum for each plant species, growth phase, or product segment and achieve the desired shape and plant activity”, says Marvin Verkuijlen, the crop researcher at Brabant Plant. By seamlessly integrating GrowWise control system wireless with our climate computer, Brabant Plant now can control the lights easily, “we can provide the plant with exactly what it needs at any given moment”.

Marvin shared the reason for choosing Signify not only for superior light uniformity, “Because we know that Signify stands for a solid product and ensures that the lamps are thoroughly tested.” The expertise brought by Signify also made this collaboration more valuable. Brabant Plant is currently operating the LED lights at full capacity and expect a great winter season.
