Govt & business promote Dutch horticulture at GreenTech

Several government and horticultural organizations are joining forces to promote the Dutch horticultural sector internationally during GreenTech Amsterdam (June 13-15, 2023). The collective announces a joint program to position the Netherlands as the horticultural heart of the world and establish business connections with relevant international partners.

During the week of GreenTech, dozens of international delegations will visit the Netherlands at the invitation of participants in the Strategic Trade Fair Program. Dutch Greenhouse Delta, GreenTech, AVAG, World Horti Center, RVO, and the Topsector Horticulture & Starting Materials have joined hands to establish connections with potential partners for long-term collaborations and new business opportunities abroad.

The collective presents the Dutch horticultural cluster at the "Netherlands Pavilion" in booth 728 in hall 5. In addition, an interesting program has been put together to share Dutch best practices and establish connections with incoming decision-makers, policymakers, investors, retailers, and high-tech growers. Inbound missions are coming  from Japan, China, India, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Canada, the United States, and various European countries, among others.

Program

The week kicks off on Monday, June 12, with an exclusive networking dinner at the World Horti Center, where delegation members will get acquainted with companies from the Dutch horticultural cluster. The program resumes on Tuesday, June 13, at RAI Amsterdam with the opening of GreenTech, after which the delegations can visit the trade fair, where more than 500 companies will present their innovations in horticultural technology. The cluster will also organize a networking lunch and three seminars on the Visions Stage on June 13, featuring speakers addressing global challenges such as climate change, robotics, and water scarcity, for which the Dutch horticultural cluster offers solutions.

  • 10:00 - 10:45 | Climate, CEA & Technology: A dialogue with Jaime de Bourbon de Parme and Hidde Boersma on horticulture's crucial role in global challenges
  • 11:00 - 11:45 | JaNeth Onshitsu Robotto: developing next-level greenhouse robotics; accelerating greenhouse robotics requires international cooperation. Japan and the Netherlands are joining forces to make this happen.
