Harmoniz leaves you wanting more

Harmoniz Seeds is a global agtech company engaged in the breeding and development of vegetable seeds. The company was formed in 2022 from the merger of TomaTech and Nirit Seeds. Harmoniz Seeds focuses on creating innovative, tasty and virus-resistant tomatoes, while expanding its expertise into the development of pepper and cucumber seeds.
The breeder in vegetable seeds has a particularly stated goal. They want consumers to choose their tomato and, more importantly, to choose again. To achieve this, Harmoniz Seeds is trying to find the right customers and marketing channels to get the final product to the right place. ‘We try to support the growers of our varieties intensively,’ says Harmoniz Netherlands' technical sales manager Wilfred Scheffers. ‘Our excellent varieties, together with our support, result in a high level of flavour with recognisable shapes and sometimes distinct colours for the end customer and consumer.’
Valuable product
'We are extremely proud of this beautiful demo location where we can receive relations and customers and let them experience what we stand for. The fact that we have this beautiful greenhouse in Westland helps us in the rest of the world. That cradle of the greenhouse sector gives high expectations and with Harmoniz Seeds we more than live up to those expectations,' Scheffers explains the choice for the new breeding and demo location. ‘Those who are interested in our varieties can already make an appointment for a visit.’
For Harmoniz Seeds, the new location includes four breeding departments, a propagation department, a hybrid department and a demo greenhouse where customers can look inside. ‘That demand is high,’ Scheffers knows. 'We are actively pursuing resistant varieties and are achieving good and, above all, tasty results. We want resistance in the varieties, but quality and flavour are still our priority in the breeding process. It's only good enough if we have secured those. After all, our tomatoes are an incredibly valuable product and fortunately our customer and consumer at home and abroad are increasingly aware of that.'
Official opening in September
The first plants are already in production at the new location. Varieties in the demo department are in full bloom and have already surprised visitors. At this moment, the crops are being planted that will shine at the official opening in September and want to show and taste themselves.
